If, like me, you love sitting around (preferably late at night) talking about music, then you most definitely need to check out the new Songs for Jenna podcast. Here, host Ryan gives a musical history education of sorts as he plays ’90s-era indie rock for his sister Jenna. Jenna happens to be less into twee pop and Neutral Milk Hotel and more into, say, Dave Matthews—but she’s open to her brother’s history lessons. Each episode centers around a well-researched theme and even though the conversation sometimes feels scripted, it’s still a fun listen—even if it’s hard to believe that a grown-up woman such as Jenna has really never heard the term “riot grrrl” before. www.facebook.com/SongsForJenna.
