All about that farm life

Soil Born Farms is the urban farm that started it all. And for nearly 10 years, the nonprofit’s annual Day on the Farm has united families with its produce and ethos directly on its American River Ranch (2140 Chase Drive in Rancho Cordova). Sure, Soil Born’s historic 55-acre farm is technically open to the public every week, but this spring fundraiser doubles as a party. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, there will be an organic plant sale, a produce stand, cooking classes, workshops, farm tours, garden activities for kids, lunch, snacks and more.
