A worthy classic
The Woodland Opera House turns in a solid take on the classic Shakespeare drama Romeo & Juliet. This production is directed by Rodger McDonald, who also plays Friar Lawrence. Emily-Jo Seminoff is sweetly virginal and coyly seductive as Juliet while Colin Coat gives an energetic performance as Romeo. Of course you’ve probably seen this show a million times already, but this version’s definitely worth a ticket, with its gorgeous costumes and impressive swordplay. 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 2 p.m. Sunday; $15-$25, $7-$12 for children. Woodland Opera House, 320 Second Street in Woodland; (530) 666-9617. www.woodlandoperahouse.org.
