What do Anne Lamott (author of Plan B and Imperfect Birds), Father Gregory Boyle (founder of L.A.’s Homeboy Industries), Father John Dear (peace activist), Twesigye Jackson Kaguri (Uganda’s Nyaka AIDS Orphans Project), Dr. Arun Gandhi (peace and nonviolence activist and author), Brian McLaren (emergent church movement) and Sister Helen Prejean (anti-death-penalty activist) have in common? Their vision, which they’re willing to share with Sacramentans.

These luminaries make up the speaker’s list for Changing the World Through the Eyes of Visionaries: The Moon Lecture Series at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church. The church will host one lecture per month until next March, and the series starts this Saturday, August 7, at 8 p.m., when Lamott speaks.
