From Korea to the United Nations to Wisteria Lane

After gaining international stardom for his role as B.J. Hunnicutt in the TV series M*A*S*H, Mike Farrell embarked on the role of a lifetime: a human-rights advocate.

His memoir, Just Call Me Mike: A Journey to Actor and Activist, highlights Farrell’s career on M*A*S*H and his subsequent roles as president of Death Penalty Focus and goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. He often speaks about the death penalty, environmental causes, international human-rights abuses, gay rights and election politics. He will appear at both The Avid Reader at the Tower in Sacramento and at The Avid Reader in Davis this week.
