Coffeehouses are the perfect fashion runways: Between 5-10 a.m. every morning, baristas throughout town get an unedited, uncensored sampling of quotidian Sacramentan style—what’s in, what’s out, faux pas and bear claws. So it’s fitting that a downtown coffeehouse and den of counterculture revelry the Javalounge does seasonal fashion shows: Name a better place to show off the latest styles than where people don outfits after rolling out of bed. Their fall event, Fuck Bombs Let’s Dance: Another Javalounge Fashion Show, is this Saturday at 8 p.m., and this time will feature work by designers Bananafish, Sapphire Cordial, Reject Clothing, Martini Kisses Design and Van De Neer Clothing. The Empress will (wo)man the turntables, and Javalounge will serve up the beer, wine and caffeine (not free, but reasonably priced). Fall is the best time of year for Sacramento fashion: You can take the best of summer and winter and just roll with the weather; anything goes. And if your fashion interests lean DIY, vintage or secondhand, this show’s for you. Javalounge is located at 2416 16th Street, and the all-ages event costs $5.
