The state of true glam is often a result of spell casting. It exudes from those who believe that a glamorous universe exists, and that they are posited at its center, and when they sweep grandly into a room, glitter falls like faerie dust. Jacob Golden, formerly of the combos Flood, Brother, Orisha, Youth Symphony and Birthday, is one of those lads for whom that particular appellation applies. Golden, who’s been living in England, and whose solo album will be released by the British indie label Rough Trade in March, returns to Sacramento for the holidays; he’ll perform the first of two shows at Old Ironsides, 1901 S. St., this Friday, December 21, at 9 p.m. Cover’s $7. Also on the bill are Jeff Pitcher and Elin Lord.
