Youth, empowered
April 11, Sacramento Young Feminist Alliance convention
There's a myth that teens aren't socially conscious or politically active. The young women of the Sacramento Young Feminist Alliance will disprove that notion this Saturday with an all-day convention scheduled to take place at the Met Sacramento High School. The event will feature guest speakers including Gender Health Center's Rachael Hudson on transwomen in feminism and Fight Like a Girl author Megan Seely on organizing. There will also be workshops on zine making and screen printing. The event is open to high school students of all genders. 9:30 a.m, Saturday, April 11; free. 810 V Street, www.facebook.com/sacramento
