You need professional help
Tired of throwing together a half-assed costume every Halloween? Not impressing other Halloween partygoers with your Sandler-inspired pickle hand? Want to wear a professional quality get-up this year? The UC Davis Costume Shop’s third annual Halloween Costume Auction, Sale and Rental is the place to get everything you need to make this All Hallows Eve one to remember.
The staff of the Department of Theatre and Dance’s Costume Shop knows how to make fantastic-looking garments. Duh, that’s what they do, and now we can all benefit from those skills. I mean, who knows more about dressing people up as creatively and accurately? This year’s sale features over 60 costume kits, including all the old favorites. Whatever you’re looking to be this year—elf or Elvis, samurai or Dracula, geisha or pirate wench—they’re sure to have it. Many of the costume kits include great extras like high-quality wigs, headpieces and costume jewelry. Plus, you can get some all-important pointers on make-up application. No more cheesy Frankenstein stitches on your cheek.
Costumes will be for sale all weekend, but don’t miss Saturday afternoon’s costume auction. Beginning at 3:30 p.m., 16 kits will be auctioned off to the highest bidders. Rentals will be available on Sunday.
Cash or check payments only for the sales and rentals. Free refreshments will be served. 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; 3 p.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Arena Theatre, 140 Wright Hall at UC Davis. For more information call (530) 752-0740.
