Who’s a lucky dog?
You are, you local music fan, you! A veritable Sacrapalooza of bands, barbecue, sun and fun await you this Saturday. The first ever “Bands on the Barbi” is a fundraiser for The Effort (our local one-stop AIDS test and substance abuse treatment shop). For the oh-so-reasonable fee of $7, you will get to see nine—count ’em!—nine bands live in concert. The rock stars involved are the Knockoffs, Popgun, Anton Barbeau, David Houston, the Brodys, ¡Búcho!, Forever Goldrush, Slow Lorries and headliner John Doe (of X and the John Doe Thing). The fun starts at noon in Cesar Chavez Plaza, 9th and J streets. Advance tickets available at The Beat and The Gifted Gardener. Call 558-3751 for more information.
