Where T-shirts fear to tread

Looking for an excuse to wear a necktie on a weekend? Here’s one now! The Sacramento Symphony League is celebrating its 50th Anniversary with a Victorian High Tea and Boutique. Attendees will be treated to tea or coffee and four courses of gourmet delicacies including scones with cream and preserves, finger sandwiches, pastries and an array of sweets. The setting is the gorgeous Vizcaya Pavilion, 2019 21st St. With its fountain, gardens and stained-glass chandeliers, you’ll swear you dropped into an E.M. Forster novel. The price for an afternoon of luxury? $27 and the donning of your Sunday best. Tea begins at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Reservations are required.
