When in Rome
Long before Audrey Hepburn was spotted window-shopping at Tiffany’s in New York City, she could be seen traipsing around Rome, Italy, with Gregory Peck. Rumor has it that when the filming of Roman Holiday wrapped, Peck advised the film’s producers to reposition Hepburn’s name above the movie title on promotional posters. Peck predicted that Hepburn’s performance as Princess Ann, which was her first major role, would land her an Oscar, and it did. Don’t miss it when the Silver Screen Classic Movies Series hosts a screening of the film this Saturday. The movie will be shown at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Beecher Room of the Auburn Library (350 Nevada Street). Tickets are $5 for general admission, and $4 for children and seniors.
