Whatever it Takes

This lame modernization of Edmund Rostand’s play, Cyrano de Bergerac, is another teen comedy in which affairs of the heart are all sorted out during a romantic showdown/comeuppance that takes place at an over-inflated prom. Nice Boy Next Door (Shane West) plays the accordion and helps slimy Mr. Popularity (James Franco) court the Nice Girl Next Door (Marla Sokoloff). His new pal reciprocates the favor by setting up him up with the school sexpot (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe). We know from the start how this will end, but not how painful it will be to endure.
