It’s amazing at how veganism has permeated the mainstream in the past few years. I used to have to frequently explain what the ethics-based lifestyle entailed (it is, after all, more than a diet) to new acquaintances and restaurants’ waitstaff, but with a little help from pop culture, including The Oprah Winfrey Show (before the demigoddess retired her show this year), awareness has multiplied mightily. And more than ever, restaurant menus indicate vegan options on them, or, like at Thai Paradise in Folsom (2770 E. Bidwell Street, Suite 100), it’s happy to subtract the meat and ubiquitous Thai fish sauce in your order, which turned out great: My order of Spicy Noodles was so delicious, it made my meat-eating dining companions a bit envious.
