Midtown’s The Hub Collective is a private club, so you’re going to have to fork over some cheddar to join, in addition to paying the $5 cover to see Mount Eerie, Tara Jane O’Neil, Karl Blau and the very interesting Canadian band No Kids, who sound like a poppier, beat-infused, more accessible Sufjan Stevens troupe. On Tomlab’s label, No Kids are a trio, but will be joined by Phil Elverum himself on this fall tour, so that’ll be interesting, because I’m not sure how his gloomy, ambient styling of late will affect the band.
