Wed, March 23, Art vs. Science
TownHouse Lounge, 9 p.m., $6-$8
Australian dance-punk trio Art vs. Science has nothing to do with math nerds’ and creative types’ never-ending struggle to see eye to eye. In fact, the band—who formed in 2008 after witnessing Daft Punk’s monster tour that year—is all about fusing party vibes and musical craft. Their hearty, dancy glam sound is catchy, such as hit single “Parlez-Vous Francais?” complete with French lyrics about women’s undergarments. Add some symphonic synth crescendos, bassy breakdowns and would-be hand-clap-along moments, and you’ve the makings of a good ol’ fashioned dance party. Placerville’s the Bank opens this Concerts 4 Charity gig. 1517 21st Street, www.artvsscience.net.
