Sophomore year of high school was the same thing every day: The bell rang, everyone grabbed their boards and skated to Josh’s house, threw on CKY videos and watched Bam Margera’s crew of flunkies wreck themselves in shopping carts while urinating on each other. Short for Camp Kill Yourself, CKY was also the name of the band that provided the soundtrack for these shenanigans. The group’s music has since become an inescapable force in the world of skateboarding, partly aided by Margera’s popularity, but with instantly recognizable songs such as “96 Quite Bitter Beings,” it was only a matter of time before the poseurs caught on. 9426 Greenback Lane in Orangevale.
