For those who missed Phoenix at Outside Lands, if you're willing to let a few things slide, you can achieve a similar experience with Australian electro popsters Strange Talk. Yeah, OK, Assembly isn't exactly Golden Gate Park, and Strange Talk doesn't have the same veritable quirk as the French trailblazers, but the band did use the same engineer to mix its latest album, Cast Away, as Phoenix and M83 did, and frontman Stephen Docker's voice is uncannily similar to Thomas Mars'.
