Wanting wontons

Davis Noodle City (129 E Street in Davis) is not, unfortunately, a replica of the municipality made solely of ramen. However, DNC does have house-made noodles with a distinct sesame taste. The fare is uncomplicated, served extraordinarily hot in sizable portions for less than $7 in most cases. The Sichuan Egg Plant is tender, sweet and spicy, and the Veg. Wanton Noodle Soup soothes a vegetarian’s dumpling desires. Speaking of which, DNC’s owner opened another spot earlier this year to indulge wonton wantons within spitting distance: The Dumpling House. But I’ll pass on the cream cheese dumplings—even wonton harlots should have standards.
