Since the 1970s, photographer Joel Sternfeld has been capturing unusual and quirky moments in time through his photos of little-seen residents and landscapes of America. His work, along with Abby Banks, Cutter Collective, Richard Gilles, Justine Kurland and Kyer Wiltshire, are a part of the Richard L. Nelson Gallery’s Wonderers exhibition. Curated by UC Davis art department’s assistant professor—and fantastic photographer in his own right—Matthias Greiger, expect to see pictorial documentation of folks in unconventional lifestyles that flow in a different direction from the mainstream, such as communal livers and wanderers.
