Virtue vs. leisure
The Art Theater of Davis presents the classic Anton Chekhov comedy Uncle Vanya this weekend. Directed by Timothy Nutter, the play is set in the 1890s on a family estate in provincial Russia. The play premiered in 1899 at the Moscow Art Theatre—from which The Art Theater of Davis derives its name. 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. $15 general, $10 students and seniors; all seats $10 Thursday. 203 E. 14th Street in Davis; www.arttheater.org.
