According to the Old City Kites Web site (www.kitesatoldcity.com), April is National Kite Month. Those looking for a way to celebrate should consider attending this Saturday’s Kite Festival. The free festival, which is part of the Regency Community Park grand opening, will be held from noon until 3 p.m. Festival-goers are invited to hold tight to the string of a kite and watch as it dances in the breeze. Wee ones are welcome to pick up a free kite kit. The knowledgeable staff from Old City Kites will be on hand to help with kite construction and to share kite-flying tips. While you’re at the festival, check out the park’s permanent amenities, including a picnic area, a skate park, a disc-golf course and two volleyball courts. The park is located at Regency Park Drive at Honor Parkway in Natomas. Call (916) 446-7575 for more information.
