Proof is a new work that last year won the Tony Award for Best Play and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. The story involves an enigmatic young woman, a manipulative sister, a brilliant (but erratic) father and an unexpected suitor—plus a mathematical proof that holds the key to aspects of the story. It’s a drama, not a Christmas bauble, but it’s coming to town on the Broadway Series during the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day (Dec. 26-30), with performances at 8 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday and at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, along with 2 p.m. matinees on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, at the Sacramento Community Center Theater, 1301 L St. $10-$45.
