Tweeting like a bard

You’ve got to wonder how a word hound like Shakespeare would handle the 140-character limitation imposed by Twitter.

Well, you don’t have to wonder, but some of us do.

The answer, according to Luther Hanson, director of the Sacramento Shakespeare Festival, is that Shakespeare would Twitter in iambic pentameter. What else? At http://twitter.com/sacshakes, the search for the Bard of Avon’s online presence continues—and it seems that Shakespeare is tweeting back, the twit! The fun continues all summer long, as the Sacramento Shakespeare Festival prepares to kick off in Land Park the first weekend in July with Much Ado About Nothing.

Meanwhile, here’s a taste of iambic pentameter tweeting: “I Twittered Shakespeare, but his Web is down; I think he blocked me, addle-pated clown!”
