You could call P.O.S’ Doomtree collective a poor man’s Rhymesayers crew. Or you could say that Doomtree is what Rhymesayers used to be. That isn’t necessarily a bad thing. While the latter graduated to national campaigns and MTV love, Doomtree still works the grassroots, mounting small tours like this one. P.O.S., who is signed to both labels, won’t be in attendance, leaving the spotlight to Dessa, whose pensive and poetic A Badly Broken Code collected admiring reviews last year.
