Tues, May 10, Agent Ribbons
Harlow’s, 8 p.m., $7
It’s been a while since Agent Ribbons called Sacramento home. These days, the band parks its touring van in Austin, and founding members Natalie Gordon and Lauren Hess are a long way from their days of sharing a Victorian apartment building (and copious crafting supplies) on E Street. Still, their music retains a distinct downtown Sacramento vibe. Agent Ribbons’ sophomore album, Chateau Crone, with songs such as “Grey Gardens” and “Wallpaper of Skin,” is at once gothic and baroque, sensuous and sentimental, classic and quietly creative. Welcome them home by attending this Alive & Kicking gig at Harlow’s. 2708 J Street, www.facebook.com/agentribbonsband.
