A few years ago, esteemed rhyme experimentalist Busdriver decided to abandon the safe abodes of West Coast freestylin’ for adventures in genre fucking. What followed was a pair of albums (RoadKill Overcoat and Jhelli Beam) where he splattered distinctive vocalese over astringent electronic beats—and a mix tape last year, Computer Cooties, where he sang, speed-rapped and hummed to tracks by Daedelus, Modeselektor and Sacramento’s Sister Crayon.
