Too Tough to Die: A Tribute to Johnny Ramone

The title of this 2006 documentary is a little misleading: It’s not so much a “tribute” to guitar legend Johnny Ramone as it is concert footage from a Ramones tribute concert organized by Johnny two days before his death (he was too sick to attend), and padded out with footage from his memorial service. It’s difficult for me to dislike anything associated with the Ramones, but a rotating “supergroup” fronted by Henry Rollins, Pete Yorn, Eddie Vedder and Dicky Barrett from the Mighty Mighty Bosstones is hardly what I would call essential viewing for hard-core fans.
