’Tis lifeblood

The power of Planetary Products/Shakti Roasted Red Pepper Hot Chutney Spread is futile to deny. So much so that I now simply call it lifeblood. Made with fire-roasted red bell peppers, habanero, sunflower seeds, even “creativity” and roasted “gralic” (can we get a spell check on that label?), it’s 8 ounces of fiery, unexpectedly complex flavoring that one will want to put on everything. Find it at the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op (1900 Alhambra Boulevard) in the refrigerated section, alongside its not-hot but still beautiful Fresh Cilantro Chutney sister, which bursts with the taste of the herb over a ginger melody. Both totally vegan and totally meal-enhancing.
