Tick, Tick … Boom!

There’s a lot to admire in this autobiographical rock musical by the late Jonathan Larson, best known for Rent. In Tick, Tick … Boom! we meet young Jon, a would-be composer who’s fast approaching 30 and trying to decide if he should pack up his dreams and take a real job. Tristan Rumery stars, and puts his tenor to good use; he’s aided by the always wonderful Nanci Zoppi (who looks great in a green velvet dress) and Connor Mickiewicz as Jon’s BFF Michael, an actor who sold out for a day job, an apartment, a BMW—and health coverage. A fantastic production, all the more bittersweet because we know that Jonathan Larson didn’t get much older. Th, Fr 8pm; Sa 7pm and 9pm. Through 11/14. $15-$20.
