The NorCal NoiseFest is in its 13th season. You’ve heard of it? It’s where the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee’s mutant offspring meet each year to commune with the frequency band. It’s a Sacramento institution, and you should pay your respects by attending October 16 through 18. But if you’re too cheap or bourgeois to go, at least check out the pre-fest show in Davis, featuring Chad E. Williams, Chinapainting and Mucky the Ducky. For one, it’s free. Two, last year, Mucky spread out its toy instruments on the stage and wallowed in them like babies in a playpen.
