Ross Hammond and Scott Amendola’s Lovely Builders side project sounds like a mellower, guitar-friendly take on electronica artist Keiran Hebden and drummer Steve Reid’s recent collaborations. Except Hebden/Reid go Miles Davis meets mushroom-trip comedown, and Hammond/Amendola are more about exploring harmonies, Hammond musing tenderly on the guitar until Amendola comes in on the drums and blows up the format. It’s a cool experiment and—with Hearts+Horses also on the bill this Thursday—a show that promises to be a unique night of crafty, cutting-edge musicianship at a fun, thriving art venue. 2421 17th Street, www.myspace.com/lovelybuilders.
