Thurs, Jan 27, Tanya Morgan
Blue Lamp, 9 p.m., $7-$10
Before Little Brother broke up last spring, it earned a reputation for excellent live performances. Big Pooh is a solo artist now, and he’s more of a no-frills hardcore rapper than former rhyme partner Phonte Coleman. But he probably kept a few tricks from his Little Brother days. Then there’s Tanya Morgan (pictured), the quirkily named trio whose last album, Brooklynati, is one of the better indie-rap albums of the past few years. Want more? How about an appearance from local vets Addict Merchants, Bay Area rappers Styles 1001 and Floe Montana, and deejay Slugworth Chocolate? It’s all on The Value Menu Tour. 1400 Alhambra Boulevard, http://tanyamorgan.brooklynati.com.
