Thurs, Dec 3, Concerts4Charity
Town House, 8 p.m., donation
Clay Nutting (full disclosure: He’s a cool dude who used to work here at SN&R) runs the Sacramento chapter of Concerts4Charity, a nonprofit that he started with his college roommate. Nutting now sits on the charity’s board of directors and puts on local shows to raise money to buy instruments for young Sacramento kids. This week’s benefit show is a win-win by definition: Leopold and His Fiction, who recorded their latest with Vetiver’s Thom Monahan here at Sacramento’s Hangar Studios, will headline, and all the profits go to carrying on the tradition of music in schools. Beat that, No Child Left Behind. 1517 21st Street, www.concerts4charity.org.
