Benjamin Curtis of mellow indie-jam act Secret Machines met Alejandra and Claudia Deheza of On!Air!Library! while on tour with Interpol in 2007. They decided to leave their respective groups and join forces to create the School of Seven Bells. What’s funny is the international police agency Interpol supposedly investigated a rumored place known as the School of Seven Bells in 2002, believed to be a training facility for South American pickpockets—and it’s presumably where the band got its name. The electro-pop/shoegaze band released two albums, on Ghostly International and Vagrant Records. It will open for Interpol. 1013 K Street, www.sviib.com.
