Three days, three gigs

It starts with those who paved the way, pioneers of the local-music-criticism scene: Jackson Griffith and David Watts Barton, teaming up for a night of boot-tapping folk and acoustic rock at Naked Lounge Downtown on Thursday (1111 H Street, 8:30 p.m., $5). On Friday, feel free to mix it up with rock-jam mainstay Izabella, who, as always, will pack it in at Marilyn’s on K (908 K Street, 9 p.m.; $8). Then, on Saturday, don’t give in to exhaustion; instead, shimmy out to The Boardwalk for some metal, by means of Carcerys Vale (pictured), four dudes who’s thrash is so menacing, four out of five otologists agree they will fuck your hearing up. This is a good thing (9426 Greenback Lane in Orangevale; 8 p.m., $10, all ages). On Sunday, you get to rest. You’re welcome.
