One sure way to relieve the Valentine’s Day blues is music; some soulful sounds are just the thing to cure the solitary blues or to set a romantic mood. Valentine’s Super Love Jam at Arco Arena is the place to catch some great soul and R&B acts.

The defining voice of the evening is the incredible Percy Sledge, whose 1966 smash hit “When a Man Loves a Woman” is one of the greatest love songs of all time. Sledge’s impassioned performance is the epitome of soul.

If you like your love songs a little breezier, then Deniece Williams has got you covered. Sure, you’ll recognize 1984’s “Let’s Hear It for the Boy”, but do you remember her duets with Johnny Mathis, “Too Much, Too Little, Too Late” or “Without Us”? The lineup also includes the Delfonics; R&B powerhouse Tierra; Malo; the Persuaders; Sly, Slick and Wicked; MC Magic of NB Ridaz; and the Escorts. So, single or happily coupled, who can’t use a Love Jam? Pun very much intended.
