The tape guy
Call him the Tape Guy if you must, but Danny Scheible is, if nothing else, dedicated. He’s earned a reputation for being seen around Sacramento with masking tape in hand, spinning it into small sculptures. Hundreds upon thousands of pieces eventually become part of room-sized installations. Scheible employed that kind of dedication and tedium with different mixed media in recent years, including the 40-foot fabric and clothes-hanger sculpture called “Leviathan,” and a life-size tree composed of books called “Gnowledge,” which will be at the Fe Gallery this month.
