The steaks are high
This being the SN&R "Bizarro/Best Of" issue now seems like the perfect time to mention that, as far as I’m concerned, Taco Loco still makes the best steak burrito in town, a fact that is only enhanced by the restaurant’s newer location at 195 Blue Ravine Road in Folsom (351-4303). A great steak burrito is like a three-legged stool. The steak must be freshly grilled and chopped. The beans must be whole. The flour tortilla must be fresh. Remove any one of legs, or throw a bunch of rice in there or something, and the burrito falls apart, in the gastronomical sense. Fortunately, Taco Loco has the basics down pat, and there’s a full array of fixings available to suit individual tastes. True, it’s not all that bizarre but, for my money, it’s still the best.
