The show that cares
As a whole, musicians are a very kindhearted bunch. Neil Young, Paul McCartney, Pearl Jam, Sonic Youth, Green Day, Metallica and countless others all have donated their musical talents in the name of raising money and awareness for various causes. It isn’t surprising that our local musicians are just as compassionate, hence this weekend’s Tsunami Benefit Concert, a fund-raiser for American Red Cross tsunami-relief efforts. Saturday’s bill boasts performances by—are you ready for this list?—Nevada Backwards, Estereo, Malcolm Bliss, Aesthetic, DESA, Bored to Death, the Little People, the Carpet Pissers, Mikey Metaphor and Playing to the Grandstand. Bands will take the stage from 3 p.m. until 11 p.m. Admission to the show is $9, but if you feel like donating more, you’re more than welcome to do so. Head to the Brick House Gallery, located at 2837 36th Street, to show that you care. Call (916) 453-1042 for more information.
