The river wild
The American River Confluence Festival is a celebration of all the fun to be had on, near or in a river. There will be live music by The Eddies and Jon DuFour, presentations on the wild animals of the river area and opportunities to make masks, glaze raku animals, test-pilot kayaks, hike trails, win prizes (think raft trips and boats!), practice rock climbing, nibble sumptuous food and ride llamas provided by Como Say Llamas. The festivities benefit efforts to create a park at the American River Confluence and the fun begins 9 a.m. Sunday with a river blessing. Admission is free. American River Overlook, Pacific Avenue (behind the Fairgrounds), Auburn. Call (530) 887-9314 for more information.
