The professor’s premiere
The B Street Theatre—which presented its first show 10 years ago this month—moves into 2002 with The Late Great Henry Boyle, a world-premiere comedy by David MacGregor. The play follows the plight of Boyle, a shy and socially awkward professor who, to his horror, becomes an unwilling celebrity when his book unexpectedly rockets up the bestseller charts. As his fame grows, so does his desperation, driving Boyle to take extreme measures in the hope of regaining anonymity. Cast members include Kurt Johnson, Jamie Jones and Anthony DeFonte. The show is in previews at 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday, with the opening scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday. It continues 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday. $16.50-$20.50. 2711 B St. 443-5300. Through February 24.
