The magic of waffles

You can’t slight any two people who discover the magic in each other’s eyes over waffles. Stacey Earle, the sister of renegade country singer Steve Earle, went to Nashville to help her brother stay out of trouble. She ran into Mark Stuart at a songwriter’s night, and they hooked up at a Waffle House afterward. They play the Palms Playhouse at 13 Main Street in Winters, where waffles are not on the menu, this Thursday, June 5. Also on the bill is Texas singer Terri Hendrix. She’s backed by onetime Joe Ely guitarist Lloyd Maines, whose singing daughter Natalie got into hot water in London when she made some remarks about another famous Texan. The show starts at 8 p.m., and tickets are $15.
