The Lady Tigra at Harlow’s

She’s a bit of a tigress.

She’s a bit of a tigress.

You already know the Lady Tigra, whether you realize it or not. She’s the one responsible for that saccharine Pinkberry frozen-yogurt jingle. You thought I was going to say “Cars That Go Boom” instead, the infectious 1988 ode to subwoofers? Well, she and Bunny D were the masterminds behind that memorable gem. The duo, known as L’Trimm, were just teenagers at the time and have long-since disbanded. But now the Lady Tigra is all grown up and back on the mic, rhyming in English and French over electronic beats siphoned from the ’80s (with help from MC Lyte and Linkin Park’s Mr. Hahn) with her signature sauciness and big bass. “Cauchemars” will get you on your feet with a sweeping piano waltz hook and M.I.A.-like force and artistry. See her and her adorable spandex-loving friends Electrocute at Harlow’s on Thursday, July 17.
