The Invincible Iron Man

After successful direct-to-DVD outings featuring the Ultimates, Lions Gate brings The Invincible Iron Man to life. In this animated story, Tony Stark (voiced by Marc Worden) must become the armored superhero destined to destroy the evil Mandarin. Fanboys may be put off by minor deviations that arise from updating Iron Man’s origin story, but the spirit of ol’ Shellhead is there as Stark evolves from self-centered billionaire playboy to superhero savior. All of the animation is crisp, with the exterior shots of China even downright beautiful. Though a wide variety of suits are shown, Iron Man primarily sticks with his original gray armor. But during the final, glorious battle, the armor looks so amazing that it should set a standard for the live-action film scheduled for release next year.
