The Incredible Hulk: The Complete First Season

Universal

Long before he CGI-ed his way into the movies, the Hulk was only slightly less incredible on TV from 1978 to 1982. Brought to life by a painted Lou Ferrigno shot with low-angled cameras among extras that were never all that tall, the Hulk quickly developed a reassuring, albeit predictable, pattern of appearance. Bill Bixby wanders into a random town and gets mixed up in some local trouble. He gets angry at some point during the episode’s first 20 minutes and again during the final segment: cue Ferrigno smashing cardboard props and tossing villains onto conveniently placed piles of soft materials. This (relatively) action-packed set features all 10 episodes of the first season and the two feature-length 1977 TV movies, not to mention commentaries aplenty and a sneak peek at season two.
