The Forgotten

One stunning special effect and several fine performances are anchored to an impenetrable script in this terminally delusional psychological science-fiction thriller. Telly Paretta (Julianne Moore) is deeply mourning the death of her 8-year-old son in a plane crash when her psychiatrist (Gary Sinise) and husband (Anthony Edwards) drop the even heavier mind bomb that she is wrapped way too tightly around memories of a son she never had. When all of the mementos of her son begin to disappear, Telly begins an investigation in which she crosses paths with a man who is tormented by a similar experience and the odor of a disturbing conspiracy.
