The Book of Liz

Rated 5.0

The Sedaris siblings (David and Amy) are known for their sassy and sardonic take on life through their NPR and Comedy Central gigs. They’re an odd yet endearing pair with rather skewed senses of humor, and they’ve teamed up to write a play that’s quirky and sarcastic, yet surprisingly sweet and thoughtful. In this social satire, we get a glimpse into the religious order of the Squeamish (a take on the Amish), and, when one of the believers goes into the outside world, an innocent fish-out-of-water tale of encounters with peanut mascots, Slavic immigrants, gay diva waiters and 12-steppers.
