The Benchwarmers

Three adult dweebs (Rob Schneider, David Spade and Jon Heder) form a baseball team to strike a blow for child dweebs everywhere. Directed by Dennis Dugan (Big Daddy, National Security and Saving Silverman, to name only a few). Written by Allen Covert and Nick Swardson (remember Grandma’s Boy?). Produced by (among others) Adam Sandler, who seems to have given up on proving himself to be a real actor. Starring Schneider and Spade, whose careers have been circling the drain for years, and Heder (Napoleon Dynamite), who won’t be far behind them if he doesn’t improve his career moves. Sony Pictures refused to screen this for the press before opening. If, knowing all that, you still want to see it, then I give up. Tell whoever is reading this to you to get their car keys and drive you to the theater.
