The Anniversary Party

This is a mess. Alan Cumming and Jennifer Jason Leigh play a married couple in the movie business, struggling with infidelity, who decide to throw themselves an anniversary party. A number of stars make cameos at the party, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Jane Adams, John C. Reilly, Kevin Kline and Phoebe Cates. Some of them have fun in their roles; others, especially Paltrow, are highly annoying. Most annoying, however, is Cumming trying to pull off the part of a ruthless womanizer while simultaneously running around in little shorts with rubber bands in his hair. It’s a slew of actors running around like assholes, and it is terrible.
